Frequently Asked Questions
How old do I need to be to volunteer?
You need to be 18 years or older to volunteer independently. If you are younger, you can still volunteer depending on the role, but you'll need parent or guardian permission. Young people from the age of 10 can volunteer at the Meow Me Cat Cafe on Saturdays and Sundays, participate in community events, and foster animals at home with a parent or guardian.
Can I do work experience with your rescue?
Unfortunately, we do not offer work experience opportunities. As our rescue does not have a central shelter, animals are kept in foster homes throughout the state. You can, however, foster animals for us or volunteer at the cafe, but please note that this does not count as work experience.
Do you need volunteers who can walk dogs?
Thank you for thinking of us, but as our animals are located throughout the state in foster homes, we do not require dog walkers. However, we are always in need of dog foster carers if you have the space to provide a loving temporary home.
