Make an enduring and life-saving gift to animals

Animals are taken into foster care homes where they are cared for, socialised, and rehabilitated to be ready for adoption. We work with a number of wonderful vet partners who offer discounted services for health care. The aim of our work is to reduce the number of unwanted animals by ensuring all are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, and adopted into forever homes where they will be loved and cared for.

Paws & Claws makes no profit from the work we do. All funds raised from adoptions and fundraising events go directly into the care of our animals. This care includes providing food, litter for cats and kittens, puppy pads for training, animal bedding, toys, medications, and veterinary care, both routine (including desexing and vaccination) and emergency surgeries.

If you are a supporter of our rescue or passionate about the care of animals, leaving a gift in your will can make a huge, life-saving difference. It can provide food, shelter, and veterinary care—and change the lives of both the animals we rescue and the humans into whose homes our cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies are adopted.

If you would like to leave a gift or bequest to Paws & Claws Adoptions, please consult a solicitor to ensure the correct clause is included in your will. You can leave:

• A specific donation of funds
• A gift of property or the proceeds from its sale
• The residue of your estate after providing for loved ones

If you have pets of your own and want to ensure they are cared for after your passing, you can include instructions in your will and notify your family that you would like Paws & Claws to care for and rehome them. You may also wish to allocate funds specifically for their food and veterinary needs while in foster care.

If you want to leave a sum of money

I give devise and bequeath the amount of $x to Paws & Claws Adoptions ABN 7339104260 of 34 Tolley Crescent Brooklyn Park SA 5032. The receipt of the President, Treasurer or Secretary for the time being of Paws & Claws Adoptions is a sufficient discharge to my executors in respect of this gift and without the need for my executors to see the application thereof.

If you want to leave a specific gift (e.g., shares, art, jewellery)

I give devise and bequeath [clear description of item] to Paws & Claws Adoptions ABN 7339104260 of 34 Tolley Crescent Brooklyn Park SA 5032. The receipt of the President, Treasurer or Secretary for the time being is a sufficient discharge to my executors. Any capital gains or other tax arising from this gift shall be paid by [the estate OR Paws & Claws Adoptions].

If you want to leave real property

I give devise and bequeath my property located at [example] 9 Puss-in-Boots Avenue, Dogwood SA, Certificate of Title Volume 6789 Folio 123 to Paws & Claws Adoptions ABN 7339104260 of 34 Tolley Crescent Brooklyn Park SA 5032. If you want to leave the residue of your estate

If you want to leave a portion of the residue

If you want Paws & Claws to care for your pet:

I wish to give my [description and name of pet] and the sum of [$x] to Paws & Claws Adoptions ABN 7339104260 of 34 Tolley Crescent Brooklyn Park SA 5032 and express my hope, without imposing any trust or obligation, that they will look after [pet name]. The receipt of the President, Treasurer or Secretary is a sufficient discharge to my executors.
